Nakao Jun's seihakuji — pale blue porcelain, the colour produced by the thickness of the glaze rather than by any pigment. Pooled in the carved lines it deepens; across the open surface it barely registers.

He works to his teacher's instruction: if the shape is beautiful, you do not need to decorate it. Handleless, so the cup is held in the palm and the warmth reaches the hand directly.
