    Damaged or Chipped Ceramics

Wondering if damaged ceramics can be mended? It's always disheartening to see a cherished piece break, and the possibility of repair often comes to mind. While there were once establishments specializing in ceramic repairs, our Aritayaki cup service does not endorse specific repair shops nor offer repair services directly.

Nevertheless, we provide a Breakage Warranty for up to three years from the purchase date. Make sure to register your Aritayaki cups on our website – in case of mishaps, we've got you covered with a replacement.

Usage Marks and Scratches on Ceramics

It's natural for dishes to exhibit wear over time. Marks from cutlery and minor scratches may appear even after just one use. The traces left by cutlery on ceramics can often be diminished with the use of French chalk, provided that the application instructions are carefully followed.

Through extensive testing with various types of cutlery, we've observed significant variations in the degree to which they mark ceramics. Certain utensils tend to leave more noticeable marks, some of which might be challenging to erase. For more persistent blemishes, cleaning agents designed for ceramic glass cooktops might prove effective.

It's important to note that scratches are typically a result of normal use and are usually irreversible.

    Form Variations

The intense heat used in firing also impacts the final shape of our Aritayaki ceramics. During the firing process, ceramics can shrink by approximately 14 percent. While the special composition of our ceramic blend ensures uniform shrinkage, the handmade nature of our cups may lead to minor variations in shape.

We have strict standards for what constitutes acceptable variations, which are upheld through diligent quality control.
